Drupal Comment Notification like Wordpress

Making a move to Drupal and figuring out the many things that we take for granted with Wordpress has been challenging finding the right information.

With comment spam what it is today you just cannot allow un-moderated comments in your blog. Most of what I found doing a search on our favorite search engines really did not pull up the what I thought was relevant information.

Well maybe it is relevant, it just did not address the questions I needed the answer for. After doing some more digging I found a site that addressed this issue.

HowTo: Configuring Triggers and Actions in Drupal 6

Gerard provide just what I was looking for something simple and very quick to implement. Now when someone leaves a comment I'll get an email notification.

One of the additional benefits is seeing how you can implement additional actions with Triggers and Actions. It just goes to prove that if you search hard enough the answer is out there somewhere on the internet.

Update to the Notification.

When I first looked for this solution it was due to the comment spam that is so prevalent with running a blog. In a later post, along came a much better solution then me having to approve each comment.

Even though I still like and use the drupal comment notification, with the new module Mollum installed to fight comment spam life became a whole lot simpler.
